The rape of America.

Debby's Web Finds
The rape of America.

Wow, this is a very powerful column by a psychotherapist (and recovering liberal) who writes for the American Thinker website. She goes by the name of “Robin of Berkeley.” She equates what is happening to the country with a woman being raped. The similarities between a rapist and the one who is raping the country are quite startling.

Let’s start by analyzing the mind of a rapist. His goal: Domination and absolute power, through any means necessary. His motivation: punishing another, degrading her, feeling superior and God-like. Making her feel like an object, nothing, a no-thing.

What else propels him? Taking what he wants just because he wants it. Feeling the surge of power, the adrenaline rush, the thrill of stealing a piece of her.

…Feeding primitive, twisted impulses; expressing sadistic needs; the savage excitement of subjugating and controlling another.

Those most likely to rape? Someone who was sexually abused himself, an outsider, a person robbed of a normal childhood. A man who has carved an identity out of rage and envy and resentment. Someone who feels entitled to take whatever he wants.

What fosters rape? Parents missing in action. A culture that thumbs its nose at God.

And a society that minimizes crime, that even heralds certain criminals as heroes…

What else? A media that celebrates debauchery, that entertains through degrading and objectifying. Popular rap songs and cool hip-hop artists whose words slice and dice women…

And the aftermath of rape? The destruction of something in the victim that will never return: a feeling of safety in the world, in her own body. The nightmare of being treated as an animal — no, worse than this, since animals are now venerated. And from this nightmare she may never completely awaken.  Snip –

The word “rape” has an intriguing history. It originally denoted the violent seizure of property

This country is being raped.

It’s no coincidence that the race for the presidency began with vile behavior against Hillary Clinton — a high-tech wilding of sorts, with her body and sexuality defiled.

But the abuse of Clinton was a walk in the park compared to what has been done to Sarah Palin…

She equates the media and the Democrats allowing the abuse of Sarah Palin to a gang rape and those who stand around watching and snickering and egging it on. She then goes into the invasion of our bodies via health care and even though Obama and the Democrats got what they wanted the mocking and derision continue. More too, but this last is the most important comparison.

A majority of citizens are shouting “No,” from the rooftops. No! to ObamaCare. No! to socialism. No! to trashing the Constitution.

And yet, to Obama and the Left, the assertion of “No” does not matter. Smug and entitled, drunk with power and giddy when they see our fear, they take what they want anyway.

Wow! The only thing I’ve got to say is we must get our power back because these rapists aren’t done and they will just keep coming back. Please read the entire thing and pass it along. This is worthy of wide distribution.  http://www.americanthinker.com/2010/04/the_rape_of_america_1.html

  1. Interesting take on the rape of America. This has been going on for 40 years it is just that it has manifest only in the past 10.

It has literally been a rape. The politicians have been raping the “rich” over the last century but it was OK because they are greedy money grubbers and only the Government cares about the indigent and down trodden.

It has been said that the devils greatest triumph was convincing people he did not exist.

Government’s greatest triumph has been convincing people that it is compassionate.

  2. This is a very interesting analogy. The American people are the victims. Victims either cower and hide in shame and fear or they make the decision to take back their power. The American people are not cowering in fear, they are in the process of taking back their power.

  3. “For in reason, all government without the consent of the governed is the very definition of slavery.” Jonathan Swift

As we get farther along the road to government without the consent of the governed, we get farther along the road to serfdom. Slaves are also rape victims, so Robin of Berkeley’s metaphor works well I think.

I guess the next thing is will our country survive the rape? And, will we have the strength to put our rapists in jail where they belong? (I truly believe many congressmen and women belong in a jail cell with Bernie Madoff.)
