Does Barack Obama hate the United States?
Have we ever had a president that so obviously hates his own country? Not that I can remember, and if it seems harsh to say that out loud or to read it in print, get used to it. Not even Jimmy Carter, that scold-in-chief talking about the “malaise” of the country (brought on by his policies) could win the top prize in the Presidents who Hate America Contest. Obama’s latest, and most obvious, example of his America hatred? His bashing of Arizona and standing right there while the president of Mexico bashed Arizona. Then Felipe Calderon took his America bashing to the well of the House. This is from Andrew Cline of The American Spectator, who looks at the many ways Obama has demonstrated his disgust with his own country. Obama’s disgust and obvious hatred of America weakens our country and leaves it alone in the world with a huge target on its back. Talk about disgust. I’m thoroughly disgusted.
Speaking in Strasbourg in April of last year, Obama said to the people of Europe, “Instead of celebrating your dynamic union and seeking to partner with you to meet common challenges, there have been times where America has shown arrogance and been dismissive, even derisive.”
The Telegraph of London wrote, “His speech in Strasbourg went further than any United States president in history in criticising his own country’s action while standing on foreign soil.”
… Obama spoke before the Turkish parliament, saying, “The United States is still working through some of our own darker periods in our history… Our country still struggles with the legacies of slavery and segregation, the past treatment of Native Americans.”
Now he is returning to that theme, strongly hinting to China and Mexico that overt racism is raising its head in America again. Snip –
This week, in the discussion over the Arizona law, Obama took Mexico’s side. Even though the law simply allows Arizona police officers to do exactly what U.S. Border Patrol officers are supposed to do (arrest illegal immigrants), Obama called it “misguided” after earlier saying it would lead to racial profiling. Worse, he let Mexican President Felipe Calderon call the law a racially motivated human rights violation.
Calderon said earlier that Arizona was criminalizing immigration which leads to intolerance and hate. He went on to say that these policies “go against human rights.”
Speaking before Congress on Wednesday, he attacked the law again, saying it was “a terrible idea using racial profiling as a basis for law enforcement.”
But the law a) doesn’t criminalize immigration, and b) specifically prohibits racial profiling. No American president should let such a gross distortion of his own people’s motivations and behaviors go unchallenged. But Obama let it stand — because he agrees with it.
This is not the behavior of a politician who is proud of his country. It is the behavior of one who is ashamed of his own nation and its history.
As Obama disses old friends like the United Kingdom, he celebrates others with state dinners: India and Mexico.
…The president is signaling a switch in America’s view of the world. It is a shift of profound importance.
… We are no longer part of a Western alliance of nations unified by shared cultural and political ideals. We are no longer leaders of the world, guiding others forward to modernity and liberty. We are merely one cluster of humans among a planet of equals.
In Washington, Calderon…said we should have a border that unites instead of divides. But borders divide by definition. What would a border that unites our people look like? It would look like no border at all, which is the ultimate goal. Snip —
Images of monarch butterflies hung over the tables at the state dinner, and Cline makes a very disturbing point.
… the Monarch travels completely unmolested from Canada to Mexico. It observes no borders. What a fitting symbol for the new, enlightened foreign policy Obama wishes to pursue.
… Mexico doesn’t really want open borders, it just wants its people to have open access to the United States and the abundance of jobs created here…
… While (Obama) is pursuing some Utopian vision of world harmony, Mexico, China, Russia and others are taking full advantage of his delusions. Obama, desperately seeking the approval of foreigners, is systematically weakening America and lowering her status as a world power. No wonder non-Americans have a more favorable opinion of us since Obama took office. Their chances of overcoming America as the world’s greatest power are greatly improving.
So Obama’s “we are the world” rhetoric is now coming into view as policy, not mere talk. He wants open borders. Without borders, there is no United States of America. Obama has no pride in America. He will continue to punish the United States and its people as long as he is president. He is a president for masochists. If you’re a “beat me, I love it” kind of person, you’ll be fine for the next couple of years, but if you’re a normal American, this should totally tick you off. Then, there’s Democrats standing and applauding Calderon as he bashes the country. If Republicans want a great ad for their re-election campaign, there could be nothing better than an ad showing the disgraceful Democrats applauding a foreign leader who attacks our own country. This is what Obama’s America has come to. This is hatred of the country. It is arrogance, and once again, just as the Democrats displayed during the passage of Obamacare, it is a total disregard of the desires and the needs of the American people, who only want Obama to enforce our immigration laws and protect the borders of the country. In other words — do his job.
As Doug Powers said as a guest blogger at Michelle Malkin’s site: “nothing should scare voters more than this kind of continual evidence that Democrats will stand for foreign leaders over one of the states in their own country. And to top it off, a state that did something that the vast majority of Americans agree with.”
